Identification
Even the shortest of points or matches can reveal a player’s conditioning or fitness level. Shots or tasks that rely on conditioning are:
- Being able to sustain strong match play for several hours (aerobic)
- Being able to sustain a long rally and then be ready to play the next point in 25 seconds (anaerobic)
- Repeated actions/movements in stroke technique require strength training
- Repeated actions/movements in footwork require plyometric training
